Summary: | 碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 家庭教育研究所 === 93 === This study seeks to investigate how personality traits, sense of value and job satisfaction of the parents of primary school students related to their concept of gender egalitarianism.
The intentions of this study are:
1. To understand the circumstance of personality traits, sense of value, job satisfaction and concept of gender egalitarianism of the parents of primary school students.
2. To understand how personality traits, sense of value and job satisfaction of the parents of primary school students related to their concept of gender egalitarianism.
3. To investigate the influence of personality traits, sense of value and job satisfaction of the parents of primary school students on their concept of gender egalitarianism.
Study subjects were parents of first graders to sixth graders in the primary schools sampling from Taichung County, Taichung City, Changhwa County as well as Nantou County. Adopting questionnaire survey, 768 questionnaires were sent out, valid 641 were retrieved. Research tools included self-invented “Gender Egalitarianism Scale”, modified “Personality Traits Scale”, “Sense of Value Scale” of Liu Ho-song, and “Job Satisfaction Scale” of Jen Bo-shing. After data processing and analyzing by measurement of statistical analysis descriptive statistics and method of t-test, one way MANOVA, Pearson’s r correlation, step-wise multiple regression, the findings are shown as follows:
1. No distinct level of variation quantity was observed in terms of “sense of value” and “job satisfaction” for primary school student parents, except for factors of “religion value” and “promotion”.
2. Primary school student parents showed a prominent difference in both “personality traits” and “emotional steadiness”.
3. The parents of primary school students displayed a distinct level of difference in variation quantity scale and other terms except that of “conflict management” in “gender Egalitarianism”.
4. Primary school student parents with higher education enjoyed a higher level of “Cautiousness”, were contented with their job and their promotion. They not only reached a significant level in all factors of gender Egalitarianism but also expressed more approval of it.
5. Personality traits, sense of value and job satisfaction of the parents of primary school students were found significantly related to their concept of gender egalitarianism.
6. Personality traits, sense of value, job satisfaction totally accounted for
the variation quantity of 22.90% prediction, with “personality traits” as the highest efficacy term. Moreover, “trust and cooperation”, “knowledge value”, “salary and welfare” “out-going and open minded”, “social value”, “political value” and coworkers” influenced most of primary school student parents’ concept of gender egalitarianism which totally accounted for 29.8% of variation quantity, with “trust and cooperation” the highest and “knowledge value’ the second.
