The subjects were randomly selected from second-grade students of commercial senior high school in Taiwan. The totals valid returned were 705 and the returned rate was 92.04%. The data were analyzed by frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product moment correlation. According to our research and analysis, the results of this study were as follows: 1. The cognitive style of most students were extrovert、sensation、thinking and perception. 2. There were significant differences on problem solving attitude and logical thinking ability among students’ background variables. 3. There were significant differences on problem solving attitude and logical thinking ability among students’ cognitive style. 4. It had positive correlation between approach-avoidance style and proportional reasoning for students, while problem solving attitude and logical thinking ability were negatively correlation. Also, suggestions were provided for school education and further studies.
