It also examined the differences of teachers’ job satisfaction with regard to various personal and school backgrounds. The population of this study was teachers of comprehensive high school here in southern Taiwan. “The Questionnaire for Job Satisfaction of Comprehensive High School Teachers in Taiwan” was used as the research instrument here in this study. With the method of stratified random sampling, 984 teachers, of them 599 were valid, in 23 comprehensive high schools were sampled. The rate of effective questionnaire was 60.94 percent. Some research methods were applied in this study, such as questionnaire method, descriptive & statistical analysis on questionnaire information, t-test, one-way ANOVA as well as Scheffé method. The following were some conclusions and suggestions: I. Conclusions A. Teachers’ job satisfaction of comprehension high school in Taiwan was between “no comment” and “satisfactory”. B. Teachers were much more satisfied with their jobs in regard to “Adaptation to Comprehensive High Schools” and “School Atmosphere”; however, the job satisfaction was low at the aspects of “Advanced Learning” and “Students’ Learning Attitudes”. C. Teachers of comprehensive high schools which reformed from high schools or vocational high schools had higher satisfaction than those from combined systems of high schools and vocational high schools. II. Suggestions: A.Guidelines for Students’ Courses Taken The procedure of taking courses was simplified to make students be capable of taking and planning suitable courses according to their own interests. Therefore, students had a positive attitude toward future learning. B.This study was investigated by using quantitative method. It was suggested that interview technique and observation method were applied to future studies.
