碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 經營管理研究所 === 93 === This paper studies one hurdred listed manufacturing firms obtaining ISO 9000 certification during 1995-1997. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Wilcoxon sign rank test are used to analyze the effects of ISO 9000 certification on firms’ efficiency. Our major findings are as follows: (1) Firms obtain ISO 9000 certification in order to increase customer satisfaction or the efficiency . (2) There has no significant effects on all kinds of efficiency after ISO 9000 certification in civil industries. (3) Chemical industries, metal-mechanical, and information-electronics industries have a significantly increase in overall technical efficiency after ISO 9000 certification. (4) Metal-mechanical industries and information-electronics industries have a significantly increase in pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency after ISO 9000 certification.
