The subjects consisted of 627 students drawn from the representative team of the department of physical education. The students were administered with The Paternalistic Leadership Inventory, Team Climate Inventory, Team Satisfaction Inventory and Competitive Burnout Inventory. The collected data were analyzed by t-test (independent), Person product-moment correlation, multiple stepwise regression analysis. The findings were as follows: 1. The differences of perceived paternalistic leadership, team climate, team satisfaction and competitive burnout between male and female students. Male students had higher scores in “authoritarianism leadership”, “benevolence leadership” and “task team climate” than those of female students. There was no difference in “team satisfaction” between male and female students. Male students had higher scores in “emotional and physical exhaustion”, “coaches’ and teammates’ devaluation” and “negative self-concept about athletic ability” than those of female students. Female students had higher scores in “perception about personal athletic performance” and “mental withdrawal” than those of male students. 2. The prediction of male students’ paternalistic leadership on team climate, team satisfaction and competitive burnout. Male students’ “moral leadership” and “authoritarianism leadership” could effectively predict 28%of task team climate and 25% of social team climate. Male students’ “moral leadership”, “authoritarianism leadership” and “benevolence leadership” could effectively predict 38% of team satisfaction. Male students’ “authoritarianism leadership” could effectively predict 26% of emotional and physical exhaustion. Male students’ “moral leadership” could effectively predict 15% of psychological withdrawal. Male students’ “authoritarianism leadership” could effectively predict 30% of coaches’ and teammates’ devaluation and 20% of negative self-concept about athletic ability. 3. The prediction of female students’ paternalistic leadership on team climate, team satisfaction and competitive burnout. Female students’ “moral leadership” could effectively predict 27% of task team climate. Female students’ “moral leadership” and “benevolence leadership” could effectively predict 21% of social team climate. Female students’ “moral leadership” could effectively predict 28% of team satisfaction. Female students’ “authoritarianism leadership” and “moral leadership” could effectively predict 14% of emotional and physical exhaustion. Female students’ “moral leadership” and “benevolence leadership” could effectively predict 23% of perception of personal athletic performance. Female students’ “moral leadership” could effectively predict 10% of psychological withdrawal. Female students’ “authoritarianism leadership” and “moral leadership” could effectively predict 34% of coaches’ and teammates’ devaluation and 10% of negative self-concept about athletic ability. The explanations were offered for the results, and the applications of the study were also discussed. Additionally, some suggestions for the future studies were provided. none 王俊明 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 79 zh-TW
