Physically, judo is one of the competitive exercises and muscle strength, endurance, explosive strength, and reaction are main basic abilities. During the judo competition, Kuzushi is the most important part. It is the beginning of any offence technique. Judo players have to find out the right timing using Kuzushi to break the center of gravity of the opponent while face and grab to each other. Therefore, the purpose of this study was designing the way and equipment of measuring the strength during Kuzushi in Ippon-seoi-nage of judo to supply the judo players setting the training program of the upper-limb. 14 college judo players were involved to questionnaire about measuring and analyzing the specific ability of judo to exploring the correlation between the strength and specific ability of Kuzushi in Ippon-seoi-nage of judo during the isometric and isotonic muscle construction. In another way, the difference of specific ability of Kuzushi in Ippon-seoi-nage of judo during the isometric and isotonic muscle construction between elite and normal judo players was compared. The result revealed that: 1. The isotonic contraction with 30% loading is fitting in with ballistic explosive strength with low loading, high velocity, and non-deceleration. 2. In the questionnaire of specific ability, there were significance positive correlations (p<.01) on strength V.S. skill, winning V.S. strength, and skill V.S. winning. Moreover, the skill is superior to strength with the correlated coefficient of the winning. 3. In questionnaire of body forming and specific ability about the weight and strength, the weight and winning presented the significant positive correlation (p<.05). 4. In questionnaire of the strength of isometric contraction and judo specific ability, there were significant positive correlation between relative maximum strength and skill. 5. In questionnaire of the strength of isotonic contraction and judo specific ability, reaction time presented the significant negative correlation to strength (p<.01) and winning (p<.05). 6. The elite judo players were superior to normal players in relative maximum strength, the average of strength making, relative average strength, and initial average of strength making while the isometric contraction; besides, there were significant difference in initial average of strength making (p<.05). 7. The elite judo players were superior the normal players in reaction time, movement time, and explosive strength while isotonic strength; besides, there were significant difference in movement time (p<.05) and explosive strength (p<0.5). For specific strength of Kuzushi, although the explosive strength with low loading and high speed and fast reaction, the enormously strength are also needed to face the defense and offense situation during judo competition. Therefore, through the relationship between questionnaire of specific ability and the type of contraction, the result revealed that the isometric contraction can used to measure the maximum strength of upper limb in Kuzushi and the isotonic contraction can use to measure the reaction time and explosive strength of upper limb in Kuzushi.
