Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立體育學院 === 教練研究所 === 93 === The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships of coach efficacy, social support, and burnout among high school coaches. Participants were 164 (62 females and 106 males) high school Division-I coaches. Their average age and coach experience were 34.89 and 7.36 years respectively. Participants were asked to complete a questionnaire which assessed their perceptions of coach efficacy, social support and burnout. The results indicated that (1) In terms of the differences of demographic data on coach efficacy, social support, and burnout, male coaches reported greater coach efficacy than female coaches; public school coaches reported greater coach efficacy than private school coaches. (2) In terms of the prediction of the coach efficacy, social support was a major predictor. Furthermore, age also positively predicted coach efficacy. (3) In terms of the prediction of burnout, “game strategy efficacy”, “social support”, and “technique efficacy” revealed as significant predictors. When coaches perceived higher “game strategy efficacy”, “social support”, and “technique efficacy”, they reported less burnout. Based on the results of this study, the implications and applications are also proposed.
