Bereday, is aiming to compare the student loan systems of high education between England and Commonwealth of Australia. The purpose of this study can be summarized as follows: 1.To explore historical development and the practice of the student loan system in England and Australia 2.To compare the similarities and differences in student loan systems between England and Australia. 4.Based on the comparative analysis, to propose suggestions related to the student loan policy in Taiwan in the future. This thesis is divided into six chapters. Firstly, it begins with an introduction, which explains the motive, purposes, research methods of this study. Then, a brief review of literature, as well as an explanation of theories and concepts related to student loans in higher education, are given in the second chapter. Next, after exploring the historical development, reform, and current provisions of student loan systems in England and Australia, respectively, a comparison of their student loan systems is made in the fifth chapter. Finally, based on the findings of the comparative analysis, conclusions and suggestions related to the student loan policy in Taiwan in the future is then proposed.
