It is known to be effective in the treatment of both panic disorder and obsessively compulsive disorder, while scyllo-inositol may be a marker for cerebral pathology. In addition, they may represent a viable treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. Two capillary electrophoresis methods were developed for separation of myo-inositol and scyllo-inositol. The first system coupled capillary zone electrophoresis with the indirect UV detection. This system was simple and temperature control was not necessary. The correlation coefficients of myo-inositol and scyllo-inositol were 0.9994 and 0.9997, respectively. The concentration limits of detection of myo-inositol and scyllo-inositol were 1.44 mM and 0.98 mM, respectively. In the precision test, all relative standard deviations of migration time and area ratio were smaller than 5.1 % and 0.6 %, respectively. The second system combined micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography with fluorescence detection N-methylisatoic anhydride was used for pre-derivatization of the non-fluorescent inositols before analyzed by MEKC. The analysis can be completed in 4 minutes and the correlation coefficients of myo-inositol and scyllo-inositol were 0.9988 and 0.9992, respectively. The concentration limit of detection was lower than 10-4 M. 曾惠芬 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 67 zh-TW
