For slow fading channels, we adopt damping effect to improve system’s efficiency. For fast fading channels, the performance can be improved by offsetting the switching levels. Besides the theoretical study, a software 802.16 transceiver in Matlab is developed. This software transceiver can efficiently speed up the study of adaptive modulation.
