Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 93 === In bioinformatics, inferring phylogeny is an important problem. Its function is to express the relationship between species. In general, for inferring phylogeny problem, we are given: (1) a distance matrix which describes the difference between any two species, or (2) a set of quartets which describes the relationship of any four species. In this thesis, we use quartets and modified Short Quartet Method to infer phylogenetic tree. In this method, it just uses parts of all quartets to construct a phylogenetic tree and the topology of generated phylogenetic tree will be consistent to the given quartets. Finally, we will provide experiments which prove the correctness of our method and describe a situation which our method does not construct a phylogenetic tree.
