This paper is to investigate the adoptability of EEWH system on high-rising apartment buildings in the Kaohsiung area, which is located at the tropical southern part of Taiwan. These buildings are private investment projects and present majority ways of living in part of this city. To achieve a Silver ranking of green building in Taiwan, eight indices of green building assessment (total indices are nine, biodiversity is only adopted in large site development projects) are evaluated to investigate the cost and benefit of achieving each index. Design strategies and regulation suggestions are also proposed for future EEWH system amendment. A few critical topics are studied to encourage real estate developer applying for green building mark, which including: 1.Urban content and related real estate market. 2.Index of assessment, marketable value, and design strategy. 3.Economic considerations for variety of detail design. 4.Combined evaluation by green building indices and real estate development. 5.Analyzing building projects for real estate developers.
