Enterprises can utilize information technology and collaborative management (CM), the crossing-boundary management among corporations, to increase the total operation efficiency of supply chains. Based on trust, CM enables corporates to share information and resources within partners through rebuild integrated process and management system as a virtual business, in order to improve competitively and to enhance integration. However, there is few academic research existed that can be found on the field of CM model and empirical study. In this thesis, through a survey of academic papers and worldwide practices, the trend of collaborative management is analyzed. The models of CM are classified based on two dimensions – functions integrated and the relationship among enterprises, which can be used as the research and application reference model. A questionnaire study, targeted on the companies which participated on the CM projects supported by Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, was performed to verify the proposed classification model and to investigate the critical successful factors of CM projects. According to the survey, companies adopted the supply chain model to conduct CM projects initially. Collaborative manufacturing model is the most widely applied, followed by collaborative design model, where vertical collaboration model is preferred. The top three important factors related to the project success are high level managers acting as communication channel, the personnel quality in the companies and as the consultants. Due to the relative high ICT investment of the sample companies, the expenditure on IT has no significant influence on performance of the projects – though the literature indicates e-business is an important infrastructure for CM. Furthermore, it is foud out that the importance and application practices of CM are not well awared and there is insufficient training programs available. The findings of this research should be useful for the managers to execute the CM projets with better insight. Jr-Jung Lyu 呂執中 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 105 zh-TW
