Therefore, an enterprise organization may combine the knowledge of all employees for discussion, which becomes a critical factor of continuous growth for a business. As a result, the knowledge management system has turned to be the center of core competitiveness for an enterprise.
Thus, in this article, the multipurpose performance evaluation concepts will be applied to the performance assessment of introducing the knowledge management system to the semiconductor industry in Taiwan. First, a questionnaire survey was conducted to collect information on the related importance and action performance of knowledge management implementation items in the semiconductor related industries in Taiwan. Next, statistical methods presented by Parasuraman et al. were used to define the performance indexes of action and importance of knowledge management implementation items (goals). Then, related correlation and weighted values among implementation items (objectives to be stressed) of low importance and high action and of high importance and low action were to be established by fuzzy measures. Last, the implementation items (goals to be emphasized) of low importance and high action and of high importance and low action via fuzzy integration method along with the overall performance values were used to define the critical successful factors (critical strategies) of introducing knowledge management to the semiconductor industry.
It is expected that business operators may find the improvement objectives and strategies required for the construct of introducing the knowledge management system through the complete performance assessment model provided in this research. Consequently, the effects of introducing the knowledge management system may be increased at the lowest cost and powerful features.
