Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 獸醫病理學研究所 === 93 === The aim of this study is to utilize immunohistochemistry (IHC) and surgically constructed intestinal loops to investigate the invasion mechanisms of the Salmonella enterica serovars Choleraesuis and Salmonella enterica serovars Typhimurium in pigs. Inoculation of Salmonella Typhimurium resulted in acute necrotic ileitis with accumulation of large amount of neutrophils infiltration in the lamina propria, whereas inoculation of Salmonella Cholearesuis that induced mononuclear cells infiltration. The results of IHC also indicate that greater numbers of Salmonella Typhimurium were present in the lamina propria and Peyer’s patch, whereas fewer Salmonella Choleraesuis were present in the same locations. In addition, outbreak of CSFV infection is almost accompanied with salmonellosis in the field, but the mechanism and relationship between both diseases still remain unclear. Inoculation of Salmonella in CSFV infected pigs, 3 day post infection (DPI) to 4 DPI, the Salmonella induced severe fibrinoid enteritis, erosion, ulceration and the greater numbers of neutrophils and mononuclear cell were scattered through the lamina propria. Challenge of Salmonella in attenuated CSFV vaccine inoculated pigs, 3 DPI to 7 DPI, the results demonstrated that Salmonella induced sever fibrinoid enteritis, erosion, ulceration and the greater numbers of neutrophils and mononuclear cell were scattered through the lamina propria. The results of IHC also indicated greater numbers of Salmonella were present in the lamina propria and Peyer’s patch. We could utilize ligated ileal loop to study the Salmonella invasion and induced septicemia of immunosuppressive pigs in the future.
