The incineration has become the major process to treat municipal solid waste due to the high volume reduction and energy recovery. About 20 municipal waste incinerators operate in Taiwan, and produce a large amount of the bottom ash and fly ash. Hazardous fly ash was generated from the incineration process due to the high proportion of heavy metal existing in input waste. Solidification of fly ash and subsequent landfill disposal has been widely applied to treat incinerator fly ash in Taiwan. However, the landfills have been applied for many years and the capacity approaches the upper limit gradually. Resource recycling is a promising concept for the solid waste treatment and receive more attention in the recent research. The sintering process seems to be a potential technology to handle the incineration ash, and has been used to the treatment of sewage sludge, sedimentary sludge and incineration ash in MSWI. The main purposes of sintering process are which effectively lower the dissipation rate of hazardous materials and hope to resource recycling. Most of research of sintering is focused on batch study. The main objective of this study is to investigate the continuous sintering behavior of fly ash with a rotary kiln. The operating conditions are as follows: (1) the different sintering temperatures and (2) operation time. The differences between the continuous and batch system will also be examined to provide an actual consultation in plants. The main purpose of the study focuses on finding a simple and economic process to treat MSWI fly ash. Ming-Yen Wey 魏銘彥 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 118 zh-TW
