Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 資訊科學研究所 === 93 === In this thesis, a novel architecture of three-dimensional Virtual Output Queue (3D-VOQ) switch is along with a scheduling algorithm is proposed. This 3D-VOQ switch can emulate the output-queued switch with various scheduling algorithms, and under arbitrary traffic patterns and switch sizes. Our proposed scheduling algorithm takes advantage of many architectural features unique to the 3D-VOQ switch in an effort to maximize the switch performance. First, the N×N 3D-VOQ switch architecture is presented. In this contention-free architecture, the head-of-line problem is eliminated with a few virtual output queues (VOQ) from the input side and the output side are arranged by using sufficient separate queues. Then, we propose a Small Time-to-leave Cell First (STCF) algorithm to produce a stable many-to-many assignment. It is also demonstrated that the proposed 3D-VOQ switch is capable of emulating the OQ switch. Finally, an analysis and a simulation are employed to verify the performance of 3D-VOQ and to support the QoS service.
