The Phalaenopsis has different of the mature degree of inflorescence to undergo long time dark treatment at 20℃. For improving the appearance and the activity of the physiology of Phalaenopsis from dark treatment, 1-MCP was used before dark treatment. The dark treatment caused the appearance quality of pot Phal. New Candy ‘KHM293’ presented gradual decay. After dark treatment for 10 and 13 days, the flower has already appeared the petal aging , the flower wilting, and the flower bud of the inflorescence head fallen off. The pot Phalaenopsis has different of through the dark treatment, in spite of the days of dark treatment, flower wilting rate of the plants with open 1-2 flowers high in plants with open 3-5 flowers. Because the day of dark treatment counts the increment, two kinds of plant open the mature degree, its flower wilting rate all turns worse of trend. The lowest ethylene production of the plants with open 3-5 flowers at the day after dark treatment was maintain in light with 0.29 nl/g.hr, and the highest was after dark treatment for 13 days with 0.60 nl/g.hr,but all lower then the plants with open 1-2 flowers. Both kinds of plants caused the root activity descended after experiencing the dark treatment, and along with the days fter dark treatment, the the activity of roots more low. Along with the days fter dark treatment, the root activity of inner part recover contiguously; and the activity of exterior to then present deline first behind trend rise. The content of chlorophyll a, b and total chlorophyll of the second leaf from base of stem were decrease more obviously then the second leaf from top of stem, and the dark treatment for 13 days to descend most. The chlorophyll content of each treatment all backs up of trend from 7 days after treatment. The malic acid content of petal, the second leaf from top of stem and the second leaf from base of stem were decrease with the increasing days of the dark treatment at the day after dark treatment, and all backs up of trend from 7 days after treatment. The effects of petreatment 1-MCP on appearance quality and flower wilting rate of pot Phal. ‘KHM293’ influenced extremely and obviously. The ethylene production of the plants pretreatment with 1-MCP was obviously low in untreatment plant. The root activity, content of chlorophyll a, b and total chlorophyll of the plants pretreatment with 1-MCP were obviously lower then untreatment plant, but the malic acid content was similar to.
