Spatial data can be analyzed and displayed easily in Geographic Information System (GIS). Therefore, Cross-Country movement can be combined with spatial analysis and designed procedures to analyze and display in GIS. That is a great tool to user providing terrain analysis and more information.
This study aimed at methods of Cross-Country Movement analysis. Also the ArcGIS software will be used to achieve terrain analysis. The test area is located at Da-Keng mountain area in the north of Taichung City. All the research will be done in this area. Then Cross-Country movement result will be demonstrated in 3D virtual reality scene.
According to the results and procedures obtained from this study, users can simulate military vehicle Cross-Country Movement analysis in GIS then provides information to commandant to make decision.
