Among the waste, bricks and tiles are produced under high temperature sintering, which is similar to the producing procession of pozzolanic materials like fly ash or slag, and such material may replace cement or natural sand to generate pozzolanic reaction. Hardened mortar, a production of cement hydrating, contains un-hydrated cement, and may generate secondary hydrating reaction in the long term. Therefore, this research tends to examine the practicability of replacing natural fine aggregate or cement with three kinds of recycled aggregates, including bricks, tiles and hardened mortar of the waste concrete. The recycled aggregates were crushed and smashed into fine aggregates and powder. The gradation of recycled aggregate was fixed. Several different replacement percentages were selected to replace part of natural sand or cement in the mortar mixtures, and the influences to the strength of mortar were examined. The test results show that the recycled aggregate generates obvious pozzolanic reaction or secondary hydrating reaction in the long term, and the concrete strength could be improved.
