| Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 媒體空間設計研究所碩士班 === 93 === The Kuo-Hsing Community has a history closely associated with the Japanese occupation in Taiwan. Although military dependent villages like Kuo-Hsing exist with a different ethnicity, language and cultural values, they have a common community sense. Vacant lands of military dependent villages around not only become the location that people gather together and allot the living supplies, but also the base of the life, leisure, development relations. The importance of public space is that it’s a place can keep go on the social system. Under the urban planning, the military dependent villages had rebuilt the public housing. Allot with Youth Park to make Kuo-Hsing public housings in same district of administrative area, reserve the public space usage of the parts of military dependent village period and relates to with the interaction of the neighborhood park at present. Therefore, this paper will analyze the relation of the resident and space idea from the history and life backgrounds then investigate the community resident and their public space cognition through interviews and observations, and by the activity of the community resident to activate the public space within community, construct the place of the community resident public activity.
