The economic model was developed by Gronau (1997) and Khandker (1988). Using the data “Survey of Women’s Marriage, Fertility and Employment in Taiwan ” conducted by DGBAS 2003. The data focuses on married women ages between 15 and 65. Data on allocation of time of women are classified under two categories-home production and market production. Sample selection bias due to participation in the labor force is considered in the estimates of allocation of time models. The empirical results suggest that married women’s allocation of time are significantly influenced by ages, degrees of education, numbers of kids under 6 years old, predicted wages of women, predicted wages of husbands, areas of living, and sample selection bias.
