Summary:碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 教育研究所碩士在職專班 === 93 === Abstract The purpose of this research is to study the relationship between teachers’ perception of their professional roles and their teaching effectivenss. This research was carried out through questionnaires regarding elementary school teachers’ perception for their professional roles and their teaching effectiveness designed by Liu Li-Jung(2001) and Chen Mu-Chin (1997). 823 elementary school teachers were sampled and surveyed to represent the population of all the elementary school teachers in Taoyuan county. The results were statistically analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson''s Product-Moment Correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The conclusions are as follows: 1. Elementary schools teachers have high perception for their professional roles. 2. Elementary schools teachers’ teaching is self-evaluated effective. 3. Elementary school senior teachers or teachers who graduated from vocational schools or have administrative positions have high perception for their professional roles. 4. Elementary school senior teachers or teachers who have administrative positions have high teaching effectiveness. 5. The relationship between teachers’ perception of their professional roles and their teaching effectiveness has positive correlation. 6. Teaching effectivenss is predictable from the ethic in teacher’s perception of their professional roles Finally, suggestions are proposed to educational administration departments, school administrators, elementary school teachers and future researchers.
