碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 國際企業學系碩士班 === 93 === This study explores Taiwanese SMEs’ (small and medium enterprises’) entry mode choice and performance in Mainland china by using an eclectic analysis view of resource-based theory, strategy behavior theory, and behavior decision theory. Through Logistis Regression and T-Test Analysis, 98 firms are empirically analyzed. Findings of this study indicate that firms’ R&D intensity, diversity, entry timing and decision-maker’s education background and work experiences all have significant and positive influence on the choice of firms’ entry mode in Mainland china. But firms’ international experience influences firm’s entry mode in Mainland china significantly and negatively. Besides this, firms’ entry timing, decision-maker’s work experiences and education background are the most pronounced influencing factors for the choice of firms’ entry mode. Examining mode performance measures, this study indicates firms whose mode choice accordance with the prediction of our integrated model that based on resource-based theory, strategy behavior theory, and behavior decision theory perform better than those whose mode is selected otherwise.
