Under the goal of sustainable development, many countries need much more energy to be used all around the world. Now new energy called “renewable resources”are solar energy, wind energy, subterranean heat, hydraulic power etc., and it is utilized more and more. The important thing is that it is inexhaustible. With gradually valued on the green building, solar power system is applied in buildings, schools, communities etc., and by using solar water heater, it is not only unpolluted but energy-saving. It is a trend of using solar water heater. Nation military drives some applications of renewable resources to our environment. The purpose of this study is to discuss the solar water heater in the army dormitory and to investigate the soldiers’ satisfaction of using it by questionnaires. According to the result of research, the cost of installing the solar water heater in the initial stage is higher. However, estimating among the cost, security and energy-saving, it is worthy to popularize it in the army dormitory. Furthermore, according to the analysis of the questionnaires, it shows soldiers’ positive satisfaction of using solar water heater, and they show great agreement to the conclusion.
