The system hardware includes a CNC Machine, a robot, a conveyer, an engraver, a PLC controller, an Ethernet Data Gateway, a CCD Camera, material storages and a web-based server. Its software system development used a human-machine interface control program written in JAVA language and CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) to develop a distributed network environment which then achieved the objective of remote controlling the unit through the distributed network. CORBA technology nowadays is widely applied on the integration of different computer software. Although there are already many cases for relevant studies, there are only few cases of studying in manufacturing equipment hardware integration. Therefore this system is a great breakthrough among national studies. It also allowed any of hardware manufacturing equipment could be a distributed object. And it brings Object Orient Design methodology of software engineering into manufacturing system. The system is constructed with CORBA distributed architecture as the base technology. The primary components are equipment tier, application server tier and user tier. This layered architecture can realize reducing the loading of Web-Based Server and improve its stability. The homepage lecturing platform used in the system is constructed by the above mentioned technology, PHP language and MySQL database. A homepage monitoring interface developed via JMF packages of JAVA software was used to monitor the system in order to meet the requirements of human-machine interface control. The features of the developed system are (1) Users can be located at a different place to monitor the operation through network by the control panel of the manufacture equipments and the motion picture of milling process. (2) Users can remotely control the milling equipments such as material feeding, milling, and storage operations in order to achieve automatic manufacture remote network manufacture goals. This research has shown the system can combine network database, supported website management mechanism and database inquiry to provide more varieties of serving functions.
