Its quality directly affects the firing accuracy. In order to reduce the number of defect parts and improve the manufacturing precision, this paper investigates the adjustment of mechanical components, the analysis of manufacturing process, and the stress-strain relation on the barrel. Based on the broaching quality problem occurring in the past period, actual effort was done to re-adjust the components of the broaching machine, apply 3D/CAD Software to draw solid model and identify the problems by analyzing the stress-strain relations with ANSYS finite element analysis. It is found that significant strain arises from the axial and lateral forces, and that the train depends on the thickness of the wall and the engaging position against which the barrel is fixed. According to the results of the analysis, the fractures caused by torsional effects of broaching force were found and fixture’s configuration was modified. After these improvements, the numbers of defects were significantly reduced. This research can be used as an excellent reference for barrel broaching process. It is proved that consistent high quality of barrel production is achieved by adopting the engineering improvement processes proposed in this paper. Ming - jer Lin 林明哲 學位論文 ; thesis 88 zh-TW
