This study discussed if there was any difference in school life difficulties, manners of adaptation and anticipation of schools’ assistance of Elite students-Athletic with different background variances in Hualien region. By referring to the documents relating to learning difficulties and coping methods in schools and the chart of self-made “Questionnaires On Elite Students-Athletic’ School Life Coping Methods” as the resources of information, checkups of every assumption were proceeded (the level of significance is set α=0.05) through the post-comparisons on the t-test, Pearson product-moment correlation, own-way ANOVA and Scheffe’s Method. The research objects were 589 Elite students-Athletic in Hualien region.The results of the study revealed :
1.The factor of the students’ life difficulties that reached
the level of significance in the variables of genders,
different graders, attributes of schools, residence of
school dormitories, the number of school teams, and lesson
guidance.
2.The factor of students’ school life adaptation that reached
the level of significance in the variables of genders,
different graders, attributes of schools, the number of
school teams, and the training hours.
3.The factor of students’ anticipation for schools’
assistance that reached the level of significance in the
variables of genders, different graders, attributes of
schools, and school clubs activities.
4.The aspect of the difficulties in school lives of Elite
students-Athletic in vocational and regular senior high
schools in Hualien and Taitung Region had negative
correlative with these aspects of “the pursuit of
assistance”, “passivism and withdrawal”, “attention
distraction”. But it had positive correlative with “self-
confrontation” and “problem evasion”.
5.The aspect of “the offer of counseling” in the
anticipation of Elite students-Athletic in vocational and
regular senior high schools in Hualien and Taitung Region
for schools’ assistance had negative correlative with the
aspects of difficulties of “learning motivations”. The
aspect of “arranging administrative assistance” had
positive correlative with the aspect of difficulties of “learning motivations”. The rest aspects did not reveal any
obvious correlative.
This study took the Elite students-Athletic in Eastern Region as the objects. Compared with the demands of the Elite students-Athletic in other regions, there might be some differences. As a result, in order to have a better understanding in school learning difficulties and coping methods of national Elite students-Athletic, it was suggested for the researchers in the future to make further tests on this chart for its application and to make an over all examination for the national Elite students-Athletic. And comparison should be made between this study and others.
