Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 織品服裝學系 === 91 === Cutting down tariff, revoking quota restrictions in 2004, global trade liberalization has become a popular trend in whole world. Most of international branded buyers are going to decrease the number of suppliers and develop a strict supplier’s certification requested in order to reduce cost, secure product quality and reputation. Nowadays, be a qualified supplier by international branded buyers seems to be an important indicator to Taiwan’s fabric suppliers. They must have innovation capabilities and keep the advantage of competition may have chance to build partner’s relationship with the international branded buyers. Therefore, this study attempts to examine the effects of firm characteristics and suppler certification on innovative capability and performance in Taiwan fabric industry.
The subjects for this study are fabric supplier in Taiwan. The retrieved valid questionnaires are calculated up to 63 of 110 copies and reach the returned rate of 57.27%. The responded data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, Manova, Multiple Regression.The conclusions are the followings:
1. The R&D competence of firm characteristics significantly affects a supplier’s
innovation capabilities success.
2. Both firm size and its R&D competence significantly affect a supplier’s
certification success.
3. The fabric supplier complying with certification in “manufacturing capability” and“technology utilization” typically exhibits a high level of product R&D capability. Moreover, technology utilization facilitates a supplier’s process innovation and management innovation.
4. The supplier’s management innovation capabilities are found to have positive
influence on promoting efficiency.
5.The fabric suppliers complying with high level of quality system of certification are found to have positive influence on cost reduced. Moreover, fabric supplier exhibit high levels of emphasizing quality system and technology are found have positive influence on promoting efficiency.
