It targeted 32 children who are four to six years old in a mixed class. The researcher entered a day child center and observed the aggressive behaviors happening among the children. According to the result of observations and the discussion with three teachers of the class, the researcher selected six incidents that happened the most frequently in the class, and drew six sets of pictures. Each incident is presented by a series of drawings like comic. Then the researcher asked the children individually about their opinions of the incidents drawn in those pictures. The major findings are as follows. 1. Children gave different stories of each series of pictures. Some children depicted the story that matched the happened incident; others aligned those pictures with different order and made up a different story. Furthermore, some children were able to guess what caused the incident. A couple of children did not understand the whole context of the incident so that fabricated the whole story by themselves. 2. The attacker’s inclination, motivation and sex would affect how young children thought about the incident. Besides, young children gave positive or negative interpretations of what caused the aggressive behavior. 3. Young children gave positive or negative interpretations of the behavior of the attacked. Some children focused on the interaction between the attacker and the attacked while they were explaining the aggressive behavior. They thought that those behaviors had resulted in ill communication. 4. Considering an incident, some children thought that it was the fault of the attacker, some thought it was the fault of the attacked, while others thought both the attacker and the attacked were wrong. Young children judged the aggressive behaviors according to their own intuition, how the attacker behaved and the attacked reacted, and rules taught by their parents and teachers as well. Based on the findings above, suggestions were made for parents and teachers. Issues for further study were also discussed.
