碩士 === 佛光人文社會學院 === 社會學研究所 === 93 === In the present paper, attempts are made to explore the orientation of the intellectuals under a historical perspective to review the process of the ‘anti-liowching’movement happened in I-lang on one hand, and to find out the channels which the intellectuals participated in that on the other. It deals with how the intellectuals conducted the masses to strive for social justice in a movement of social reformation, and how to organize a debate on public affairs openly through publishing non-party magazines during the period of martial law. Eventually that movement had successfully exercised strong influence on the authorities then. Moreover, it delineates how the intellectuals expanded the organizations to enhance their forces on social activities through allying with the others who shared the same ideas for achieving the goal of social reformation.
