Therefore, one may apply agent-based methodology to simulate the interactions among agents which are the force attributing the evolution of cities. Cellular automata (CA) is frequently used as the base for agent-based simulation. Through CA models, one can obtain that, first, the overall information regarding the entire city as well as the status of each agent. Then, the major advantage of the CA models is that it can simplify the complex evolution process of a city but without the loss of vital information. In addition, CA models not only can use to simulate the actual evolution process but to reveal the self-organizing characteristics of cities. In this study the attempt is made to apply the CA models to simulate the changes in the spatial population distribution pattern of Taichung City. From the analysis results, it clearly shows that major development initiatives and past development patterns do have certain impacts upon the future development. Therefore, it is important to consider both the external factors and the internal forces during the formation of future development of plan of a city. The planning objectives only can be achieved with a detailed understanding of interactions among the elements which are underlying the evolution process of a city. none 王大立 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 177 zh-TW |
