Three major issues are evident in corruption literature: incentives‚ positive or negative impacts and corruption prevention strategies. The focus of this study is on the advancement of anti-corruption strategies in Taiwan.
This study is aimed at understanding the strategies of anti-corruption worldwide by literature research and collects the opinions from the elites and government officials in Taiwan. through interviews. Benchmarking from the experience of anti-corruption in Hong Kong and Singapore demonstrates successful factors include1. political will, 2. integrity conduct of civil servant, 3. value of core ethic, 4. streamline administrative procedures, 5. an independent anti-corruption organization, 6. harsh punishments, and 7. media and civil support.
This study concludes there are four critical aspects on the advancement of anti-corruption strategies in Taiwan in future：（1） efficient enforcement of the law,（2）eradication of inducements,（3） civil participations and support, and（4） independent anti-corruption organizations.
