That is the reason this research focuses on tone perceptipn to administer experimental examine. The purpose is to explore the development model of Chinese tone perceptual system and to investigate the lexical status would influence the judge of the tone. Two different groups of objects were managed in the experiment including grade one elementary students and college students. The stimui in this experiment includes word, pseudoword, and nonword controlled by computer program. Sbjects make the judge of tone according to the words showed by the earphone, meanwhile the computer records each reaction time and accuracy. Base on these data, the computer analyzes the variation of tone identification when sbjects encounter the combination of different lexical status and different tone. Results of the research were as below: First, the accuracy and reaction time of grade one students and college students were both better in tone 1 and tone 4 than in tone 2 and tone 3. Second, grade one students had inferior performance to college students in each different lexical status. And the third, during the process of the tone identification, grade one students were not influenced by the variation of lexical status, on the other hand, college students were influenced by the variation of lexical status in tone identification.
