Risk communication is based on people’s risk perception. Accordingly, an appropriate health risk communication strategy is important to a hospital’s risk management. This study investigates Taichung Citizen’s perceptions of risks arising from a variety of cancer. In terms of a survey questionnaire method, some findings are as flows: Two dimensions, including the extent of prevention and dread, significantly affect people’ perceptions of a variety of cancer risks. Furthermore, the sex and age factors significantly influence perceptions of risks arising from some of cancers. Finally, the highest extent of perceived risk is from a liver cancer risk, the extent of perceived risks arising from the remaining cancers is at a lower level.
