The cultural and creative industry has become one of the most important and quickly-developed economic activities in many countries since England started to promot the cultural industry in 1997.Taiwan regarded the cultural and creative industry as key policies with the program “Challenge 2008: National Development ” announced in 2002, and many countries also make it an important national development strategy.
In this article, the author focuses on the factors that affect the industry, and apply the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as the research methodolgy. The author conducted an empirical research in Kaohsiung city and county and Pingtun city in southern Taiwan.
And concluded 4 findings in this article:
1.The factors that affect the cultural and creative industry
are: “management mechanism”, “the value-added ability of product”, and “ financial source of capital”.
2.Although the 4 catagories of cultural and creative industry, i.e. “creative media industry”,” music and art performance industry”, “industry of performance and exhibition facility”, and “creative living industry”, of Kaohisung city and county and Pingtung city have shown some consistency on the priority of development, they have more significant differences on the specific items of industry development.
3.Creative living industry is the most precedent priority of development in these areas.
4.These factors have varied effect on the 4 categories of cultural and creative industries of these area.
