How to accurately analyze the impact of a delayed activity on a project is the main purpose of existed delay analysis methods. When the completion of a project is delayed, to identify a single activity’s contribution to the project can be as a basis for further delay claims; besides, when an activity is delayed before a project completed, to forecast its contribution of extending project’s completion can be used for reducing the chance of a project delayed by the activity. Jonathan Jingsheng Shi, et al. have proposed a delay analysis method of consisting of several mathematical equations based on CPM approach with a single estimate for each activity’s duration. This research fixed the drawbacks of above method and then integrated the modified method and the concept of three-time estimate approach for each activity to develop an innovative delay analysis method that can be used to forecast a delayed activity’s contribution probability to a project. This research also developed a simple system, implemented on the platform of Microsoft Project with Visual Basic Application programming language, to serve as a tool for analyzing the delay information before and after a construction project completed.
