碩士 === 中華大學 === 機械與航太工程研究所 === 93 === Abstract Motors and vehicles inspection have been executed for several decades in our country. Due to strictly and successively execute under the inspection stipulation of the system, it has already obtained sizable guarantee to all kinds of vehicle and promoted much more in traffic safety in out country. However our country does not have a set of feasible regulations for calibrating the inspection equipments and instruments. Though the Motor Vehicles Office, Department of Motor and Vehicles and Inspecting Agency are quite general and convenient for people to inspect their vehicles, but do these vehicle’s inspection equipments guarantee their accuracy at present? Are there accurate within the range of their rational public errand ? And how to carry out the calibration of the equipments? To fulfill the mission mentioned above, it still remains to investigate. In view of this the main goal of research is as follows : Investigate the status of inspection instruments and equipments in out country；Analysis the regulation and system for calibrating the inspection equipments in domestic and international； Set up a new brake calibrating device and correct the present method to calibrate the brake equipments. Hopefully, it assures that the more security of promoting the road traffic and the more justice to the Motor Vehicles Office in executing the inspection of the motors and vehicles.
