The materials of filter nets currently used in the cleaning rooms by hi-tech industries to meet the strict cleanliness requirements are drastically different from those used in household air conditioning equipments. Since the cost of filter nets compose of a very small portion of hi-tech businesses’ total operating expenses, businesses tend to discard used filter nets, which increase waste, to ensure the smooth running of cleaning room operation. The discarded filter nets are not decomposed in the landfill and will lead to the blockage of fire grids in the incinerators, thus raising more social cost. To alleviate and resolve such problems, local hi-tech businesses in Japan have been widely utilizing ultrasonic cleaning equipment to recycle the filter nets in cleaning rooms. This equipment not only saves businesses expenses but also resolves the environmental problems created by the discarding filter nets. The purpose of this study is to introduce the innovated technology of ultrasonic cleaning equipment in details through the cooperation between the academic circles and businesses. The study focuses on the identification of local businesses with the equipment and a survey to investigate the equipment’s acceptance in the market. We target local hi-tech businesses with cleaning rooms (class 10000) and extract the constructs influencing the market acceptance by Delphi Method and through Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), we calculate the relative weighting of each construct and principles to explore the future development of ultrasonic cleaning equipment. From our research, we found that two elements—government policies and publicity are key factors influencing local hi-tech businesses’ selection of the ultrasonic cleaning equipment. Therefore, manufacturers are recommended, when promoting the ultrasonic cleaning equipment, to incorporate government policies and regulations with equipment characteristics of stability and quality enhancement to assist consumers’ identification with the cleaning level after equipment usage. In the meantime, the study also predicts the future requirements and trend of the ultrasonic cleaning equipment, and we believe great market demand will lead to business opportunities.
