Description
Summary:碩士 === 長庚大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 93 === Theoretically, hospitals belong to non-profit organizations. But when facing limited financial assistance of the government and new systems of the Bureau of National Health Insurance, managers of hospitals still have to regard profit and loss of hospitals as an important operational index. Hospitals have almost no space to earn profit under new systems of health insurance, so saving costs is the only way to last the operation of hospitals. Nowadays, most managers of hospitals increase inventory levels of medical materials to avoid the situation of shortage when suddenly high demand occurs. But when inventory holding costs also increase with inventory levels, the flow of cash is less smooth and has negative effects on the operation of hospitals. Therefore, setting appropriate inventory control models of medical materials to save inventory holding costs is an important topic to managers of hospitals. This study is focus on discussing inventory control problems of medical materials. The periodic review policy, which is commonly adopted in business models, is used with the concept of lateral transshipment to simulate different conditions of inventory control models of medical materials. Suggestions of this study will be provided for managers of hospitals by comparing and discussing computational results.
