In view of their job attributes, interests and doubts, researchers would like to understand the phenomenon in the development of the collegiate games and their endowed educational implications. Accordingly, the purposes of this research are to know: 1) the sports phenomenon drawing from the hosting progress in collegiate games, including sports value, sports standard, ritualized behaviors in sports, sporting substances and matters; 2) the educational meanings and implications developed from collegiate games. This study adopted in-depth interview and literature review as means to look into collegiate games profoundly. Ten present physical education teachers and coaches in colleges and universities are invited as interviewees. The outcome of this research is stated as the following: 1. Collegiate games serve the purpose of demonstrating the education, competition, promotion and business. 2. Collegiate games turn in the value direction of participants’ own “sports purpose” to satisfy the self-value basic measure and gain the appended value and meanings via “sports means.” The educational implications, therefore, appear in the cultivation of honor and responsibility, physical education teachings, social communications and the development of sports aesthetics. 3. The representation of sports norm, based on “sporting rules,” in the collegiate game is a standard for the game procedure and participants’ sports behaviors on a basis of “sportsmanship” as the foundation of sports virtues-modeling. The educational implication emerges from the law abidance, punctuality, obedience, virtue mastery, and teamwork spirit. 4. The planning organizations of collegiate games appear to be temporarily task-based institutions to meet the needs of games and give priority to the physical education professions, administrative ethics, and respects. Its founding purpose is to help the games proceed in success through easier communications from organizations vertically rather than horizontally. Its educational implications are to provide the way of communications and the divisions in labors, fostering of self-abilities and ethic education, study of resources collections in enterprises and the society. 5. The ritual behaviors in the collegiate games are exercising in a keynote of historic succession and liberal justice. However, because of the ignorance of sponsoring schools, participants’ indifferences, the meanings dissolve into the ceremonies gradually. They consider there is no significance in collegiate games, and see them as a sort of progress and demonstration of ritualized behaviors. Also, its educational implications are shown in the category of cultural pass and role model leanings. 6. The development of supporting substances and matters the collegiate games is on the strength of the factors as service spirit, pursuit for the perfection, business consideration and so on. Under the factors, it offers excellent place sites for the sports participants, services of equipments and information technology. Educational implications are seen in the enhancement in the teaching quality of physical education, interdisciplinary integrations, re-modeling and education of united concept between the sports and enterprises.
