This paper proposes a heuristic hierarchical approach for the problem to optimize the bottleneck processing time of a single type PCB assembly line consisting of several identical machines. Each machine has a placement head equipped with several nozzles for placing components on the PCB, and components of different types have to be picked and placed only by nozzles of corresponding types. The proposed heuristic includes five stages:nozzles allocation, components allocation, components sequencing, feeders adjusting, and workload balancing.
