The idea of the proposed method is first aimed to take advantage of the characteristics of short pulse width along with the pulse position modulation in time hopping UWB to obtain better accuracy in positioning. Then, it utilizes the correlation information and erecting and matching algorithms to determine the location of mobile terminal. And the positioning data also can be reference information that store in database server. The simulation results show that, in the same propagation environment, the proposed method improves the accuracy 20%. Additionally, it also shows that our method also has the better multipath immunity. To demonstrate the potential use in real world, the proposed method has been successfully applied to the problem of 3D motion capture. In the prototype, we utilize several 2D location information to output 3D motion information. The result shows that the UWB technique captures the precise image of the player.
