From the war history, we understand that the success for the U.S. mainly rests with the effective employment of various advanced sea and air transportation capabilities to accomplish the transportation requirement of logistics support and material. The efficiency and outstanding performance of the U.S. logistics operations can serve as an excellent example for the R.O.C. Air Force to improve its logistics operations. Because the defense budget is getting less and short, the Air Force are taking measures to “decrease the cost while increasing effectiveness” as the most important direction for “force building and combat readiness.” This study chose the most critical part of logistics, the distribution process, as the subject under discussion and proposed a model for feasible cost analysis process, estimation pattern and application. We compared the transportation cost of the recommended solution with the current practice, and utilized software such as LINDO and Excel to verify the model. The results showed that the proposed solutions are much more cost effective than current practice. Therefore, it is recommended to eliminate some transshipment station for future supplies of the aircraft components while taking distributed storage pattern into several places. Thus, the operational flexibility is reinforced for future combat requirements. Keywords: Persian Gulf War, Transportation Model, Logistics System
