Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 空間設計系碩士班 === 92 === As a kind of artificial, house is a significant and magnificent part of cultural evolution. By its process of development, house type can be regarded as an identified man-made species as a biological species. Based on the interesting hypothesis, the focus of this thesis is mostly addressed on the transformation of the house types appearing along Shan-zau Road beneath Ba-kua Mountain in Chang-hua County in terms of developing a research methodology of house types. In this thesis, the transformation of the house types in the selected area is viewed as a transforming process of man-made species, which includes the re-evolution process, and the evolution that generated by diversifying mechanism of type. In the process of transformation, the external form of type comes from the productivity of internal factors of form and the external limitation of circumstances. The internal factors provide type with the potentiality to generate variations from a formal root, and the external limitation of circumstances urge the type to evolve. Based on the investigated cases seen in the field study, the attributes of house form, the spatial elements, and generation rule of both solid space and void space are analyzed. It is found that the generation rule of space which comes from the internal factors of from is the basis of evolution. It may generate the possibility of evolution of house type. However, since the evolution process of house type is multi-linear, it’s difficult to scrutinize the entire evolution system, and to build the relationship between result of evolution and its causes. This research attempts to distinguish the generation and the evolution of house type, and tries to establish the relationship between both. The objective of this research is to find out a valid way to see the diversity of the transformation of house type.
