However, comparing the proportion in research between scientific and literary, that shows a great spatial difference. It can not reflect how popular the scientific children books are. Therefore, the main aim of this research explores the illustration design methods which following my previous scientific children books research. The research concludes four methods (I) To analyze the design methods for the insect children books. (II)To explore insect illustration technique and express questions (III)To comprehend the characteristics of the design of insect illustration (IV)To explore the applied functions of the insect children books. This research is preceded by three steps: The first step is to analyze the various illustration techniques. The second step is to investigate the illustration pattern and analyze the topic of the insect illustration design in children books. The third step is to analyze the functions of insect pattern applied by the pictures. These result of this research has been into two parts: The first part :(I) The design style of insect illustration in the picture book. (I.I) The realistic presentation in the picture books is a communication design method. (I.II) The “Direct Narration” ,“Footnote Explanation”, “The Pattern List”, and “The Section Plan” are the most popular design methods in the picture books. (I.III) The majority of insect design styles generate a popular design style. (I.IV) The complex illustration design which are usually described by the words aside in the picture book. (I.V) The design methods concert the picture presentations. The second part: (II) The characteristics of the insect illustration in the picture books. (II.I) The "Direct Representation" are based on the realistic, correct figure presentation. (II.II) The footnotes aside the illustrations deeply help explaining the picture and impress the readers. (II.III) The section plan of various insect pictures deliver the specific meaning and purposes in the picture books. (II.IV) The procedure pattern list are the main design in the picture books. (II.V) The simplistic illustration in the picture book corresponds to different individual experiences. (II.VI) “The Picture Indicates Emphasis" is a connecting the design methods. Suggestions: (1) Those diagrams, which need to be contrasted, could be guided by an insinuation way to read them. (2) Diagrams should be placed on regularity when written explanations have been added. (3) Taking abstract symbols as expressions of diagrams is suitable for children who have enough learning experiences. (4) Visual custom in reading would be a standard of managing charts if no suggestive symbols or numbers. (5) Using pictorial “Section Plan“ which describe inner constructions exactly and simplify the diagrams if it is necessary. (6) The design of application forms especially in items and categories should be clear and easy to be understood, and some connectable patterns can be placed in the forms. (7) Some connectable symbols such as lines, arrows, and overlap can be put between primary and secondary diagrams to demonstrate the concept of “Common Subjects”. none none 謝省民 陳懷恩 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 185 zh-TW
