Two kinds of mechanisms that Feeder for paperboard currently used are kicker bar feeder and extend-o-feeder. Transmission is key mechanism in terms of the extend-o-feeder. The purpose of this thesis is to propose a conceptual design of intermittence motion for a new type of transmission in planetary gear trains mechanism. First, a thorough investigation of a structure of transmission has been conducted and an analysis of relation patents has also been defined in design requirements areas. Next, the researcher utilized intermittence mechanism and planetary gear trains to compose a mechanism synthesis study. The findings suggest that the synthesis method is feasible to execute intermittence motion for planetary gear trains mechanism. Finally, among a variety of feasible conceptual designs, the researcher employed one that considered the most suitable to simulate the intermittence motion for planetary gear trains mechanism.
