During recent years, payment system reconstruction, global budget have driven the hospitals to refine their business strategies for survival. Therefore, how to run a hospital in the most efficient way has been a big issue in the health care and hospital management. This study use data envelopment analysis to access the allocation of medical resource of veteran hospitals to improve their operating efficiency. Results of this study show that 48 decision-making units (DMUs) in 4 survey years. Fifteen of them (31.25%) had achieved the perfect efficiency level in productivity. In financial, Thirty-four of them (68.75%) had achieved the perfect efficiency level. The operating performance of veteran hospitals is found not to be influenced by the scale of input resource. It was because the smaller veteran hospitals were more flexible to adjust or allocate input resources. Because variable used in this study focusing on productivity and financial, quality variables were ignored. Future study in similar subject should include variables, such a medical quality indices to explore more issues related to the efficiency of veteran hospitals.
