In recent years, dangers and errors are truly occurring in the existing medical settings. For this reason, hospital safety management has gradually been taken into serious consideration among those medical institutions from various countries in the world. Hospital managers should be responsible for safety management and enhance the security of healing environment in many ways. First, to create an organizational safety culture, the managers should actively build a consensus with the members and cultivate a common safety concept together. Second, through the coordination within the organization, the safety culture is formed and safety performance is displayed. Furthermore, the discussion on managers’ influence on the perception of staff safety, safety culture and safety performance can be a reference for the hospital to promote safety management. The research samples the employees from different professionals within six hospitals with various characteristics in an attempt to gain insights into the influence factors of hospital staff’s safety cognition. With the population proportion random sampling, a total 643 of investigation samples are collected in the revised "hospital staff safety cognition" structured questionnaire. 554 are valid and the recovery rate is 74.3%. The significant result description is as follows: 1.In terms of the analysis of demography characteristics affecting the staff safety cognition, except that the organization scale, the labor accident experience and disease safety events experience have no significant influences on safety cognition, other components of demography characteristics such as hospital attribute, the specialty leaves, age, work period of service, sex, duty don''t, safe education experience and so on are significant on affecting the cognition of hospital staff safety, culture and performance. 2.The analysis shows that managers’ support is strongly correlated with the perception of staff’s safety, safety culture and safety performance. The management levels (unit governors) are more influential on the staff’s safety cognition than the higher positioned who makes strategies. This research suggests that the core management of medical institutions should carry on the analysis of influence factors on safety management, safety culture and safety performance to build certain principles of strategies. The establishment of safety culture is based on the smooth communication channels across department and between the employees and further the fully authorized unit governors that take responsibilities to certainly monitor and assist the operation of staff safety activities. 碩士 === 國立陽明大學 === 醫務管理研究所 === 92 === Safety medical environment and medical care quality with guarantee are basic needs for the patient’s.
This research aims to discuss the impact of hospital management on the staff’s safety cognition, which is different with various personnel characteristics.
The significant result description is as follows:
1.In terms of the analysis of demography characteristics
affecting the staff safety cognition, except that the
organization scale, the labor accident experience and
disease safety events experience have no significant
influences on safety cognition, other components of
demography characteristics such as hospital attribute,
the specialty leaves, age, work period of service, sex,
duty don''t, safe education experience and so on are
significant on affecting the cognition of hospital staff
safety, culture and performance.
2.The analysis shows that managers’ support is strongly
correlated with the perception of staff’s safety, safety
culture and safety performance. The management levels
(unit governors) are more influential on the staff’s
safety cognition than the higher positioned who makes
strategies.
