Summary: | 碩士 === 大同大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 92 === Although indoor swimming pools are not affected by external weather conditions, topography or site location, the indoor pool must still also provide water of good quality to ensure a comfortable and safe swimming environment so that swimmers may gain optimum satisfaction whether their purpose is exercise or relaxation. Considering the establishment and recurrent costs in operating a swimming pool and need for the provision of a satisfactory environment for customers, this research will apply the grey relational theory to analyze the relation between the various factors affecting swimming pool water quality.
In regard to water quality information provided by pool management personnel, the following eight factors are both singly and collectively important:
• Water temperature
• Number of swimmers [pool population]
• Swimming pool water capacity
• Citric acid 20%
• Bleaching agents 12%
• Enzyme clarifiers
• Chlorine neutralizing agent
• Chemical dosing accumulated time of chemical dosing device
The grey relational theory is used to analyze the relational grade between dispersion ranges and measure the size of the grey relational. Based on this result, the factor parameter indicators can be obtained. Furthermore, the orthogonal table in the Taguchi method is used to reduce the number of above experiments and this can reduce time and money. The adoption of the Taguchi method orthogonal table identifies the parameters and the combination of factors with a minimum number of experiments.
Results from these experiments have established the following reference indicators as applicable for the high-season swimming pool: Water temperature — 28(℃), Number of swimmers — 300 (persons/day), Swimming pool water capacity — 570 (tons), Citric acid 20% - 10(liters/day), Bleaching agents 12% - 25(liters/day), Enzyme clarifier - 150(C.C./day), Chlorine neutralizing agent - 100(C.C/day), Chemical dosing accumulated time of chemical dosing device - 150(min/day). The reference indicators for the low-season swimming pool: Water temperature - 31(℃), Number of swimmers - 70 (persons/day), Swimming pool water capacity - 585 (tons), Citric acid 20% - 3(liters/day), Bleaching agent 12% - 6(liters/day), Enzyme clarifier - 60(C.C./day), Chlorine neutralizing agent - 40(C.C/day), Chemical dosing accumulated time of chemical dosing device - 55(min/day).
If the aforementioned water quality control indicators are respected, pool managers can ensure that safety and water quality will be enhanced and maintained at reasonable cost. Furthermore, the water quality will meet Health Department prescribed inspection standards and thereby provide swimmers with a proper and comfortable exercise environment.
